When using the sign-in kiosk, the Parent Survey option can be used to ask questions to parents before sign-in. This works with the touchless sign-in on the parent’s device, or with the 4-digits pin code sign-in on the Sign-in kiosk device.
Parent survey can be activated in the Settings > Parent Survey page. For each question, it is possible to indicate if the response is a Yes/No choice, or is a free-form text where parents can enter anything. Questions can be required or optional.
For Yes/No question, it is also possible to prevent the sign-in for a specific reply.
A survey must be deployed to be visible to parents. Once deployed it takes up to 5 minutes before the survey is shown to parents. When in 'deployed' mode, the questions and other survey parameters cannot be changed.
The survey needs to be changed to Edit mode by clicking on the 'Edit Survey' button before it can be modified.
How parents fill the survey
When signing-in with the touchless sign-in option, parents tap on the ‘sign-in’ button on their Daily Connect application and answer the survey questions. The app then generates a QR code to show to the sign-in kiosk.
With the 4-digit code, parents first enter their personal 4-digit on the sign-in kiosk, then answer the questions before validating the sign-in. Optionally, the parent’s signature can also be collected.
Where survey results can be viewed
Answers to the questions are saved with the sign-in entry, so teachers have immediate access to parents’ answers.
A report with the response to each question for each day is also easily accessible by directors on the web application. The report is accessible in the Settings > Parent Survey > Survey Results page.
Survey for staff
If enabled, surveys can also be asked to teachers if they use the sign-in kiosk to clock-in and clock-out. The response from teachers will then also be included in the survey results, and visible on the teacher's attendance reports.
Parent survey is available to Premium+ and Professional+ subscriptions.
